Red Rocks

To start, Red Rocks—just 16 miles west of Denver—is the only naturally-occurring, acoustically arranged amphitheater in the world. The Beatles, Sting, U2: you name ‘em, they’ve played here. If a band hasn’t performed on this magical, one-of-a-kind stage yet, it’s on their dream list—as it should be on yours! In addition to this geological phenomenon, there are innumerable venues that host concerts in Denver that fan from the heart of the city to its peripheries.

Multi-purpose Arenas

Home to the Denver Nuggets, Denver’s Pepsi Center is a multi-purpose arena—boasting close to 18K seats—as is the First Bank Center, which is a third the size. Pepsi Center is just outside of downtown Denver, 1^st Bank in Broomfield (halfway between Denver and Boulder). Downtown’s multi-purpose venue is the Colorado Convention Center, home to events and concerts alike.

Denver Concert Venues

As for concert-centric theatres, the famed Fillmore Auditorium is the largest venue in town, located on Colfax and adjacent to Downtown. Following in size: the Ogden, Gothic and Bluebird Theaters are equally stunning, historic, intimately sized halls with the Bluebird being the smallest of the three.

Don’t miss the summer outdoor performances including Sunday Jazz in the Park series at City Park and the always-incredible calendar at the Botanical Gardens—with world-class acts that sell out quickly.

Countless Stages

Not to mention, the countless stages that are sprinkled throughout Downtown and Colfax, which celebrate music performances every night of the week.

There are jazz nights at Dazzle and Nocturne, swing music at the Irish Snug, reggae (or any other music genre!) at Appaloosa Grill, and hip hop or electronic at Cervantes. And those stages are just the tip of the iceberg: Let the moves begin.

Convenient Public Transit

If you’re in town for a show, but are planning to stay in Denver’s downtown, transportation to the outer venues is easy. To get to Red Rocks and 1st Bank Center you can catch a round-trip bus from downtown via Bus to Show. Typically, pick-up is at 15th & Champa, the center of downtown. While you’re waiting, grab a pre-show sandwich at Cheba Hut.
