Get Down
Whether you’re in the mood to party all night or kick back with a signature cocktail, there’s a little bit of everything to experience in Seattle..
Keeping yourself entertained isn’t a problem. You can boogie your butt off at dance clubs like the Unicorn or Trinity, play a little indoor bocce ball at Rhein Haus, or sing your heart out at karaoke hot spots like Rock Box.
Check out a show at some of the larger concert venues like the Moore Theater and Key Arena or find something a little more intimate like the Showbox Sodo. If you’re more of a sports fan, head to Safeco Field or Quest Field for a baseball, football, and soccer games.
Grab a double-shot-extra-foam and check out the 360-degree views from the Space Needle, take a tour of the Rainier Brewery, and make new friends on one of the many ghost tours offered throughout downtown. We’re all friends here.
Dine Up
Although Seattle is known for its amazing fresh seafood, there isn’t any shortage of restaurants and foods to try. From fresh, hot fish and chips on the waterfront to dry aged steaks at the Metropolitan Grill, you won’t need an overly sophisticated palate to enjoy the food.
If you’re looking to step outside of the usual and try something new – Seattle has you covered. With a large array of cuisines (from Ethiopian to the Pacific Islands), you can explore the world without leaving the area code. Top your meal off with a PNW brew and you’re headed towards a perfect evening.
Sleep Here
Whether you danced the night away or are looking for a place to nurse your food coma, Seattle’s vibrant hotel scene has a place for everyone.
For a luxurious stay in the heart of downtown, book a room the Hotel Monaco. The hip and inviting interior will make you feel right at home as you indulge in their free daily wine tasting. Can’t leave your pooch at home? Bring them with you – this hotel allows your furry friends to join you in all parts of the hotel.
If you’re on a budget, consider a stay at the Motif Seattle. This fashion-forward hotel boasts the largest outdoor deck in downtown Seattle, where you can sip cocktails and enjoy the city lights on a clear day. It’s also a short walk away from Pike Place Market, the best place to kick off your Seattle sightseeing.
Go There
Exploring Seattle and the surrounding areas is a breeze and can be done by land, air and sea. Take a ferry or water taxi across Puget Sound or a streetcar around South Lake Union. The monorail travels through the Seattle Center and straight to the airport. Hop on a sea plane and view the city from above or hail yourself an Uber and explore the inner workings of Seattle’s suburbs.
The best part is you don’t need a vehicle to have fun. You can walk the streets of downtown and never find a shortage of shops, restaurants, and attractions to keep your head swirling.
Play outside
While Seattle is known for its waterfront areas along Puget Sound, the locals know a few hidden gems. Take a quick drive east and head into the foothills for some hiking around Snoqualmie Falls. Or make your way south to Mt. Rainier National Park and take in the scenic views of the surrounding Pacific Northwest.
If you’re a history buff, head to one of the many forts that protected the PNW during times of war. Now vacant, you can search through abandoned bunkers, climb to the top of lighthouses, and check out the “disappearing” canon guns within the triangle of fire created by Fort Casey, Fort Worden and Fort Flagler.
And don’t be fooled by the rumors that it rains every day. Surprisingly, there are several dry days, even in the winter months (But don’t let our little secret out or you’ll be sharing all these attractions with a lot more people).
Seattle will keep you busy from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Seattle event guide OUT.
